How SKLLS was born
Australia, 2024 — The Surf Lesson
Alex traveled to Australia to learn surfing. His surf coach gave him a list of things to focus on — all at once:
Result? He couldn't focus on all of them. His brain was overloaded.
The Problem — Cognitive Overload
Alex realized he couldn't focus on all of these things at once. His brain was overwhelmed. As someone deeply passionate about learning science and skill development through inzpyre.me, he understood immediately: this is Cognitive Overload.
The brain can only consciously focus on one new thing at a time. Trying to improve 5 sub-skills simultaneously means improving none of them.
The Breakthrough — One Sub-Skill at a Time
So Alex changed his approach. Instead of trying everything at once, he broke surfing down into sub-skills and focused on one thing per session:
Each day, one sub-skill got his full attention. Once it became automatic — muscle memory — he moved to the next one. The progress was immediate and measurable.
Building SKLLS — For Every Skill
Alex sat down and built the app. Not just for surfing — but for every skill. Public speaking, leadership, AI, creativity — the method works universally. Break it down, focus on one, master it, move on.
"You don't learn a skill by trying everything at once. You learn it by mastering one sub-skill after another — until the whole thing clicks."
